Cosmetic Surgery – Can You Afford to Treat Your Wrinkles?

It is estimated that eight out of ten cosmetic surgeons have been affected by the current poor state of economy and the credit crunch we now find ourselves in.

It seems that no industry can escape the clutches of the crunch and people are being forced to make cuts even if this means the odd wrinkle will have to be left untreated.

There can’t be many cosmetic surgeons who aren’t worried about the economic downturn and about 8 in 10 surgeons have it seems already been affected. Cosmetic surgery companies surveyed recently have indicated that their patient numbers and profits have decreased by a third.

It seems that patients are choosing more non-surgical and, as a result, cheaper procedures such as Botox which of course has a relaxing effect on the muscles to achieve a smoother appearance and dermal fillers which are injected into the wrinkles and expression lines in order to fill them from within resulting in a more youthful and fresh faced appearance.

If you take looking young seriously and are not of any great age then these temporary fillers can of course save you money in the short term over cosmetic surgery procedures and give good results. It is important to remember though that once you reach a certain age you will need surgery in order to remove excess skin caused by sagging due to loss of elasticity.

If you intend to opt for cosmetic surgery such as facelift surgery but are struggling to find the money then there are of course options such as taking a personal loan and some companies can arrange this for you. If you pay for dermal fillers as a temporary solution then you may want to stop utilising these and put the money you would have used aside for 6-12 months. You will quickly find you have enough money to consider opting for facelift surgery.

If you are considering cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK such as facelift surgery you should seek an accredited surgeon who is registered with BAPRAS or BAAPS to ensure this plastic surgery runs smoothly.
