Cosmetic Surgery – Maintaining the Results
Cosmetic surgery has become a must have for many who wish to retain their youthful and fresh faced looks and each year in the UK we spend millions in our endless pursuit to do so.
The sad fact is, for some the results will not last for as long as they had hoped due to their lifestyle. It is very important to tackle aging from every angle or to be more precise, from the inside and the outside. Our diet and the exercise we give ourselves greatly influences the way we look on the outside and can help stave off the aging process and keep those new looks for longer.
One of the most effective cosmetic surgery procedures for turning back the hands of time is of course the facelift which removes the excess skin and underlying tissue caused by increasing loss of elasticity in the skin as we age. The results under the hands of a skilled surgeon can be astounding.
This type of procedure can easily take 10-15 years off of your appearance and if you look after yourself post operatively can last for many years. If you were to have this kind of procedure performed and then not look after the result you will find that your appearance very quickly begins to age again.
It is essential in terms of your diet to avoid eating fatty and sugary foods as these can age the skin more quickly and of course are bad for your heart. You should eat plenty of antioxidant filled vegetables such as Broccoli which contains high amounts of Alpha Lipoic Acid and of course red berries such as grapes, blueberries, blackcurrants, etc.
You should of course keep yourself hydrated as this is crucial in helping the skin to stay healthy and maintain the elasticity. 8 to 10 glasses of water a day should normally be sufficient. Along with this you should find yourself a good moisturiser with an SPF of at least 15 to ensure you do minimise the damage done by the suns rays (even in winter). Products containing Retinol (Vitamin A) can help to correct minor damage to the skin and will ensure your skin is healthy due to its normalising effect.
Expression lines can be tackled by administering Botox to give a more relaxed appearance and any persistent furrows can of course be treated with dermal filler. Of course more important than any of these is the fact that it is essential to get a decent amount of sleep and regular exercise to rid your body of toxins and free radicals which have an aging effect.
If you are considering cosmetic surgery procedures in the UK such as facelift surgery you should seek an accredited surgeon who is registered with BAPRAS or BAAPS to ensure this plastic surgery runs smoothly.
